Eastern Narrow-mouthed Toad (Gastrophryne carolinensis)
Size:
Adult Eastern Narrow-mouthed Toads range in size from 7/8 to 1 1/4 inches long.
Description:
Adult Eastern Narrow-mouthed Toads are usually bray, browh, or reddish, with smooth skin and long unwebbed toes. They may be marked with a stripe along each side of the body, although it may be obscured by splotches or other markings. The body is plump, in contrast to the narrow, pointed head, and there is a fold of skin across the body just behind the head.
Range:
Southeastern US from Maryland to Texas, throughout Florida
Breeding Season:
April to October in the South, limited to midsummer in the North
Call:
