Oak Toad

(Bufo quercicus)

Size:

Adult Oak Toads are tiny, ranging in size from 0.75 to 1.5 inches long.

Description:

Oak Toads are warty frogs with small oval glands on the shoulders. They usually have an obvious light "skunk stripe" down the middle of the back. They can range in color from tan to reddish-brown, dark brown, or gray with darker spots on the back.

Range:

Oak Toads are found along the coastal plain (including all of Florida) from southern Virginia to the Mississippi River (Louisiana). 

Breeding Season:

April to October
