Pinewoods Treefrog

(Hyla femoralis)

Size:

Adult Pinewoods Treefrogs are small frogs, ranging from 1 to 1.5 inches long.

Description:

Pinewoods treefrogs can be tan, gray, green, or brown, and may have splotches. They often have a "bandit mask" on the face. To verify the identity of this frog, catch the frog and check for orange (or yellow or white) spots on the hidden part of the thigh -- these are usually quite clear.

Range:

Coastal Southeastern US (Virginia to Southeastern Louisiana)

Breeding Season:

March to October (April to September in the North)

Call:
