Teacher Resources
Venomous Snake Safety (All Ages)
Dealing with Snakes in Florida Schoolyards: This series of educational documents for teachers is available online through the University of Florida's electronic data information source (EDIS). These fact sheets provide information that will help you to prevent negative encounters between children and snakes, will teach you how to identify venomous snakes, and will prepare you to deal with snakebite emergency situations. Programs by Dr. J for teachers and students on this topic are also available through the Florida Knowledge Network.
Unfortunately, we are no longer able to offer the "Venomous Snakes of the Southeast" posters and CD/DVD set free of charge. However, both items are available for purchase from the UF/IFAS bookstore -- follow the links below to order.
