Wildlife of Florida - WIS3402 -

This course familiarizes students with Florida’s diverse natural communities and the ecology, behavior, and identification of the native birds, mammals, amphibians, and reptiles. This “hands-on” course will include expert instruction in the lab and in the field on the natural history and identification of Florida’s vertebrates, Florida’s natural communities, habitat preferences of wildlife and field methodology used to study vertebrates. through class outings to natural areas throughout the state. Students will also learn some of the field methods used to study vertebrates. This lab and field intensive course will benefit both degree-seeking students and professional biologists wishing to enhance their naturalist skills.
