Important Invasive Species Websites
- EDDMapS - an online mapping tool for viewing and creating invasive species reports.
- Everglades CISMA (Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area) - a formal partnership of federal, state, and local government agencies, tribes, individuals and various interested groups that manage invasive species.
- Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) Nonnative Species - seeks to provide information and minimize the impacts nonnative species have on Florida's native fish, wildlife and marine life.
- Florida Invaders - a joint production of the National Parks Service and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
- Florida Invasive Species Partnership (FloridaInvasives.org) - an online source of information and management tools for invasive species
- Global Invasive Species Database (GISD) - aims to increase awareness about invasive alien species and to facilitate effective prevention and management activities. It is managed by the Invasive Species Specialist Group (ISSG) of the Species Survival Commi/SSIon of the IUCN-World Conservation Union.
- Habitattitude - an ANS task force partnership representing the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, and the NOAA National Sea Grant College Program. Includes important information on getting involved in making invasive species policy solutions.
- Invasive.org - created by the University of Georgia Center for Invasive Species and Ecosystem Health to provide an accessible and easily used archive of high quality images and information related to invasive and exotic species, with particular emphasis on educational applications. - InvasionSoft - created by Nova Southeastern University's National Coral Reef Institute, this software (currently in beta) was created to predict lionfish invasions and will eventually be configurable for other species.
- National Biological Information Infrastructure (NBII) - a broad, collaborative program to provide increased access to data and information on the nation's biological resources.
- National Environmental Coalition on Invasive Species (NECIS) - promoting sound policy to prevent harmful non-native or invasive species from being introduced, becoming established, and spreading in the United States.
- National Invasive Species Information Center (NISIC) - established at the USDA National Agricultural Library to meet the information needs of users--the Web site serves as a reference gateway to information, organizations, and services about invasive species.
- Nonindigenous Aquatic Species (NAS) - information resource for the US Geological Survey is located at the Florida Integrated Science Center and was established as a central repository for spatially-referenced biogeographic accounts of nonindigenous aquatic species.
- North American Invasive Species Network - a wealth of information on prevention, policy, surveillance, research, management, impacts, and more.
- Nuisance Wildlife and Unwanted Pets - Resources (NPS) - a list of resources for clientele who are no longer able or willing to care for a pet, or are dealing with nuisance wildlife such as large, invasive lizards.
- TexasInvasives.org - a Texas-sized partnership to manage non-native invasive plants and pests in Texas. The partnership includes state and federal agencies, conservation organizations, green industry, academia and other private and public stakeholders who share in the common goal of protecting Texas from the threat of invasive species.
